All you have to pay to get started is $395! This low up-front cost gives you immediate access to your online training and all the resources you need to get started. The remaining balance of $4,250 is due once you are hired, and is completely contingent upon you getting hired.

You can get started now! We have rolling admissions throughout the year, all you need is your official transcript.

If you start or complete our training and decide teaching is not for you, the remaining balance of the program fee is not due, it is completely contingent upon getting hired.

You are eligible to begin looking for a teaching position as soon as you have demonstrated subject matter knowledge by passing a certification exam.

Once you have been hired, your employing district, private, or charter school will submit to us a statement of eligibility verifying your employment. Once received, if all pre-service requirements have been met your intern certificate will be recommended.

You can send your official transcripts multiple ways. The quickest method to get started is for your university to send electronic officials to transcripts@texasteachers.org. If your university does not have this as an option, you can mail them to one of our multiple locations or feel free to stop by and give them to us in person!

The length of the program is up to you! Our online training is self-paced and designed for you to do on your own time, so if you are currently working it’s not a problem at all! You do have to complete a full year internship, so once you have completed your online training and passed your certification exam you can then start your new career.

Certification varies state to state, so contact each state’s department of education that you are looking to move to verify the reciprocation process. Certification requirements vary state to state. To determine the reciprocation policies and procedures, please contact the state’s department of education.

Yes, Texas Teachers Job fair is exclusively for our candidates only.

An intern certificate is good for only 1 year and used for candidates who are in the process of becoming a teacher. Once you have completed your 1 year of teaching and all program requirements you are issued a standard certificate. A standard certificate is valid for a full 5 years and can be renewed by completing CPE hours.

Field Based Experiences are introductory experiences for a classroom teacher certification candidate involving reflective observation of EC-12 students, teachers, and faculty/staff members engaging in educational activities in a school setting. Thirty hours of FBEs are required, however 15 can be done online through your CANVAS account once admitted.

No, you do not need classroom experience. Our program is designed for all types of candidates, including those who have never stepped inside a classroom.

Yes, you will be required to complete a fingerprinting background check through the Texas Education Agency when applying for your intern certificate.
